This position is located in the Dental Department at the Colorado River Service Unit, Parker, AZ. The incumbent performs secretarial duties including but not limited to preparing travel, training requests and timekeeping for the Dental, Pharmacy and Optometry staff. The position reports to the Chief Dental Officer.
Duties
Major Duties:
Performs record keeping for time and attendance through automated systems and manual process.
Verifies medical records contain proper documentation in accordance with regulations.
Performs audits and reviews to ensure documentation and accountability of all health insurance claims are submitted.
Prepares all travel and training documents for dental staff.
Compiles and inputs data entry related to dental services.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-6: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Schedule initial and follow-up appointments and missed appointments. Interview patients to gather information; explain processes and policies to patients; train staff members on procedures/policies; updating/completing health records; answer and direct calls from multiple telephone lines; administrative duties include utilizing computerized/electronic health records such as Resource Patient Management System (RPMS) and the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and software for timekeeping; providing direction and serving as a source of information for patients in face-to-face encounters or via telephone.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
