This position is located in the Division of Facility Management at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park. The incumbent provides technical support for all activities involved in asset management work associated with the Facility Management System (FMSS) and the Cost Estimating Software System (CESS), and in the formulation and execution of long-range strategies for facility management for the park.

Duties

Responsible for the facility inventory and assessment, repair/rehabilitation need identification and cost estimation of all physical facilities. Knowledge of database management programs in order to maintain data and synthesize information into graphic and other report formats. Utilize facility management software to record and maintain an inventory database of every asset including buildings, utilities, roads, trails, signs, monuments, etc. Maintain the identification and data entry for all work performed for the year to include all employee time and the assets where that work was performed, as well as the material amounts and costs used to make repairs. Support mission including procurement, fleet tracking, energy usage and waste diversion efforts. Area Information Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park is located in Macon, Georgia. Macon is in central of Georgia, about 85 miles (1½ hours) south of Atlanta, Georgia. Macon is served by three interstate highways, I-16 (connecting to Savannah and coastal Georgia), I-75 (connecting to Atlanta to the north and Valdosta to the south), and I-475. Summers typically consist of long spells of warm and humid weather. Winter high temperatures average in the mid-50s with average lows in the mid-30s. to lower 60s. Average rainfall amounts is 45-50 inches annually. Average annual snowfall amount is less than one inch. Macon (population 150,000) has all amenities and services including medical and dental facilities, motels, banks, restaurants, churches, grocery stores, department stores, and several recreation facilities. Schools include K-12, Wesleyan College, Middle Georgia State University, Mercer University, and Central Georgia Technical College. Other services can be found in nearby communities of Warner Robins (19 miles), Forsyth (24 miles), Milledgeville (30 miles), and Perry (30 miles). Recreation opportunities are plentiful, including several county and state parks, state and national wildlife refuges, and state and national forests nearby.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-07/12/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: (1) inputting and extracting information in multiple software systems to support management priorities; (2) utilization of a fleet management information system; (3) compiling and presenting data in spreadsheets to include fleet management, energy usage, work orders, and major project work; (4) assisting in project development through the use of an automated system. PLEASE NOTE: Your resume must include hours worked per week. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. OR J.D., if related. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. PLEASE NOTE: You must include a copy of your college transcripts when qualifying based on education. -OR- COMBINATION: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (i.e. beyond the first year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
