The primary purpose of this position is to provide the Logistic Readiness Squadron commander and senior leadership with an assessment of the Materiel Management Flight's ability to perform key logistics processes ensuring standardized, repeatable, technically compliant process execution while promoting a culture of professional excellence and personal responsibility.

Duties

Acts as the Materiel Management Flight supply systems evaluator for the Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander (LRS/CC). Manages the overall quality assurance program and conducts surveillance of supply processes. Serves as the supply quality assurance technical advisor. Advises the LRS/CC, Materiel Management supervisors, element supervisors, and coordinates with other on-and off-base agencies, concerning supply operations and performance. Resolves discrepancies, differences of opinion, clarifies requirements, solves problems, and initiates changes.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Standards for Administrative and Management Positions, General Supply Series 2001. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes practical knowledge of a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principles, concepts, and methodologies in performing varied assignments, operations and/or procedures. Knowledge of supply management and inventory control systems, methods, and procedures to evaluate the impact of variables that influence the course(s) of action taken in resolving procedural issues involving conflicting program requirements. Knowledge of established supply systems in weighing the impact on variables on existing policies and procedures that influence the support and services provided. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a variety of surveillance methods and techniques to inspect work of supply personnel for adherence to polices regarding standard base supply systems and stock fund requirements. 2. Knowledge of conventional fact-finding or investigating techniques and skill in developing, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating facts relative to unsatisfactory conditions or trends and in preparing documented reports of findings. 3. Skill in using various computer software database, spreadsheet, word processing, and network programs related to supply operations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 5. Ability to interpret higher headquarters policy for supply policies, procedures, techniques, and equipment. 6. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to measure success/failure through the effective and efficient use of audits and investigations/surveillances. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
