The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of production planning, scheduling, and supply tasks in direct support of depot maintenance programs such as the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and modification of complex weapon systems and items such as aircraft, exchangeables, engines, missiles, other major end items and a variety of associated assets

Duties

Assists higher-graded Production Support Technicians in reviewing and developing workload schedules. Develops, corrects, or adjusts information in data systems. Monitors work in progress. Provides material management support for repair, overhaul, manufacture, and/or modification of equipment and/or parts requiring special handling. As required, supports the Hazardous Distribution Support Center (HDSC).

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes applying principles, concepts, and techniques of production controller, and performing a variety of production planning, scheduling and tasks in direct support of maintenance programs. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the production organization, and associated production methods and processes, labor, machinery, manpower, and material requirements. 2. Knowledge of the product to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data and processes and prepare outlines for basic production schedules. 3. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, instructions, functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. 4. Skill in data entry and utilizing automated systems. 5. Ability to schedule and monitor both planned and unplanned workloads. 6. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve problems. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
