Duties

You will be required to develop networks and build alliances; collaborate across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals. You will convey written information in a clear, concise, organized manner for intended audience; use correct English grammar, punctuation/spelling. Express thoughts persuasively and use effective modes to reinforce message retention. You will show ability to effectively articulate, present/promote varied ideas/issues (sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences; make clear/convincing oral presentations. Listen effectively; clarify information as needed. You will be required to identify and analyze problems; weigh relevance/accuracy of information; generate/evaluate alternative perspectives, solutions; make timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions. You will critically evaluate to identify the causes of problems, and choose courses of action that balance the interests of the mission and stakeholders. You will compose objectives/priorities; implement plans with long-term interests of the organization in a global environment that takes into consideration the environment, resources, capabilities, constraints, and organizational goals/values. You will capitalize on opportunities and manage risks and contingencies, recognizing the implications for the organization and stakeholders. You will develop programs and activities to establish, maintain, and enhance public awareness of the command and enable mutually beneficial community relationships.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience developing and executing community outreach programs. 2) Experience developing and executing communications programs for sensitive environmental matters. 3) Experience doing public presentations for neighborhood boards and community groups. 4) Familiarity with the Endangered Species Act.
