About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404TH Army Field Support Brigade Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, Freight Movement Branch, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.

Duties

Utilize automated systems to input freight classification codes. Determine efficient and economical rates and routes for movement of freight. Arrange for domestic shipments over 10,000 lbs for surface and under 1,000 lbs for air. File data pertaining to freight movement to keep proper record of shipments. Advise customers of inadequacies or inaccuracies in shipping requests and related documentation. Provide advice to serviced activities on freight procedures, policies and regulations. Advise activities on special packing, labeling and proper procedures for preparation of shipment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes InformationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
