You will serve as a MOBILE EQUIPMENT METAL MECHANIC LEADER in the EXPEDITIONARY MAINTENANCE CENTER of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.

Duties

You will use metal working equipment to cut, bend, form or shape irregular curves, angles, and pitch in fabricating or modifying components. You will lead workers in the welding and industrial painting trades. You will assist and check quality of work in the welding and industrial painting trades. You will will be required to work from blueprints, sketches and oral instructions given by supervisor to perform work in the related trades alone or in union with others. You will use layouts and pattern development for fabrication of metal or fiberglass parts and repairs. You will use knowledge of safety regulations, practices, PPE and safety procedures in automotive painting, industrial painting and welding trades.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Removing, repairing, reassembling automotive and special vehicle body components such as doors, fenders, trunk lids, hoods, compartment doors, panels, windshields and windows; 2) Planning and laying out work according to blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications and work orders in manufacturing sheet metal structures; 3) Using hand and power tools such as hammers, chisels, hand snips, dent pullers, band and circle saws, squaring shears, seamers, bar folders, grinders and sanders to complete basic vehicle repair work.
