Duties
You will install the operating system and all required and optional authorized software applications on all end user computing devices.
You will evaluate, research, and report trends and patterns in customer support issues.
You will track, manage and report equipment inventories, life cycle management of hardware, software (and/or software licenses), and equipment disposal in accordance with policies and directives.
You will assist command in reporting loss or theft of information systems suspected of containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
You will initiate, track, and reconcile Information Technology Purchase Requests (ITPR).
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- You will be required to possess a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Information Assurance Level II certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully lift-carry up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: exercising judgment in determining the most effective methods for presenting information for use by others; anticipating customers' needs for information and assistance; recognizing situations or issues that require the attention of a more experienced specialist or are potentially precedent setting.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: explaining technical concepts to non-technical personnel; identifying appropriate actions in response to problems.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: meeting with customers to collect information about information systems issues; instructing customers on policies and procedures.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: selecting the best approach to use in resolving complex issues; recommending modifications to improve the functionality of proposed applications.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Troubleshooting systems to resolve interoperability problems regarding Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) related programs and services; 2) Developing internal and external policies and procedures to support the command's enterprise strategic plan; 3) Analyzing difficult and complex system and end user problems to determine required resolution; and 4) Performing server administrative tasks (i.e. analyzing/installing server upgrades, performing server diagnostics, monitoring server performance) to optimize system reliability and maintainability. Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
