This is a Direct Hire Authority solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Provides highly standardized preventive, psycho-educational, intervention services of an advanced nature through a home visitation model for active-duty military personnel and their families who have been assessed to be at risk for child maltreatment and/or domestic violence assessment.
Duties
Ability to conduct briefings and outreach services on management and administrative skills to enhance child and family prevention efforts and improve their overall welfare.
Completes initial, and risk assessments, of each parent to include family and child social history and the administration/scoring of the Family Needs Screener (FNS).
Provides interventions to assist in changing their behaviors, attitudes, and values that contributed to the commission of their acts.
Develops a specialized Family Care Plan based on the assessment of the family and their unique needs.
Works well with others in a team environment and communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
Provide health teachings during home visits, and crisis intervention to evaluate client progress and continuous needs throughout the service delivery.

- This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Social Worker:
Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as: conducting assessments to determine risk for child maltreatment or domestic violence; providing psychotherapy; and developing treatment care plans.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
Education
