This position serves as an Accounting Technician at the Wekwoka Indian Health Center located in Wewoka, Oklahoma. The position performs accounts receivable support functions for the patient account system, assuring an efficient and timely system of posting and collections of third-party resources. This position reports to the Business Office Manager at the Wewoka Service Unit.
Duties
Performs Accounts Receivable support functions for the patient account system.
Responsible for ensuring all auto postings are accurately posted with contractual adjustment closeouts.
Reconciles with area office on a daily basis ensuring all deposits are accounted for.
Implement and train new staff on automated posting for Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurance and Point of Sale files.
Downloads daily deposits from the online banking institution.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-6: I have one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level that equipped me with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples include: performing a variety of accounts receivable functions such as preparing daily collections, adjust and post payments, examine and follow up on claims, reconcile and balance accounts, process refunds and prepare financial reports.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
