The primary purpose of this position is to serve as staff advisor to the Senior ART of the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) for all materiel management/fuels disciplines. Additionally, provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Duties

Serves as the supply liaison between the 920 LRS in 920th MSG, key staff, headquarters, and subordinate personnel. Manages the War Reserve Materiel (WRM), Readiness Support Package (RSP), Support Equipment (SE), War Consumables Distribution Objective (WCDO) programs and 920 Rescue Wing weapons for LRS to ensure compliance with Air Force directives and instructions governing stocking, storage, preservation, accounting and reporting of assets. Serves as the supply focal point for assistance on issues concerning depot level reparables (DLR). Manages the Aircraft Sustainability Module (ASM) which predicts combat capabilities of tactical aircraft using operations plans, logistic resources and performance data. Attends meetings and conferences at MAJCOM level as required to represent LRS. Manages supply-related matters and assesses mission readiness.Interprets technical data, regulations, and accepted policy and provides staff-level guidance and advice to assigned units in the area of supply.

  • The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned non-duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
  • The incumbent may be required to fly in military or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty (TDY) assignments.
  • Noncritical Sensitive: Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • May be required to arm in support of asset preservation.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, General Supply Series 2001. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of supply/logistics operating activities and their interface with various echelons on staff elements. Scope of unit's mission entails support, maintenance, and operation of the supply/logistics program of a Reserve unit. Knowledge of a broad range of supply regulations, procedures, guidelines, and their relationships to a total supply program. Knowledge of overall supply operation in order to provide guidance and advice on matters pertaining to supply support in order to independently resolve issues involving various conflicting requirements. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., related degree from an accredited college or university. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Extensive knowledge of supply/logistics operating activities and their interface with various echelons on staff elements and must have extensive knowledge of deployable weapons. Knowledge of a broad range of supply regulations, procedures; guidelines, and their relationships to a total supply program. Knowledge of supply operations to the extent that incumbent has the ability to plan, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of the supply program on an independent basis. Knowledge of overall supply operation in order to provide guidance and advice matters pertaining to supply support and to resolve issues involving various conflicting requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, operating officials, and others to gather facts effectively. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
