About the position: This position will be assigned to the Kirtland Lanes Bowling Center, Kirtland AFB, NM.
This position will be filled as Regular Full Time employment category, guaranteed 35.0 hours/week. Regular category positions may be eligible for benefits such as Medical/Dental, Group Life, 401(k), and AFNAF Retirement.
Tour of duty for this position may include evenings, nights, and weekends.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain bowling facility equipment.
1. Installs, adjusts, repairs, overhauls, and regularly inspects bowling facility electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic score and foul units, automatic ball cleaners, hole bores, and lane maintenance machines. Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment referring to manuals for diagrams and specifications. Follows manufacturer's maintenance schedules but makes changes as necessary. Disassembles and replaces or repairs mechanical and electrical components or parts using soldering irons, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and other hand tools. Cleans and lubricates machines. Measures and regulates sweep of rakes on automatic pinsetters using hand tools and gauges. Runs automatic pinsetter through complete cycle and inspects for pinsetting accuracy.
2. Conditions, maintains, and repairs bowling pins and lanes. Repairs cracks, chips, and splinters using wood and plastic lane stock, and sanding and recoating surfaces. Maintains required records and reports; initiates requests for spare parts, supplies, and hand equipment; performs general housekeeping tasks to ensure proper standards of appearance, cleanliness, and safety of assigned spaces.
3. Performs other mechanical and electrical work to bowling facility as time and capabilities permit.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 (T1) background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical to include annual audio test.
- This position requires the incumbent to be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally push or pull objects
weighing up to 100 pounds.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair of bowling equipment which provided a thorough knowledge of the mechanical and electrical principles and operating characteristics of bowling equipment and standard test equipment.
Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and manufacturer's service manuals.
Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb, stand, and work in awkward positions.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
