You will serve as a REGISTRATION SPECIALIST in the ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT OF ACADMEMIC RECORDS (UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR), OFFICE OF THE UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR (REG) of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.

Duties

You will be responsible for admitting, registering, auditing student records, and graduating students of all USUHS school and college programs. You will coordinate all admission and registration activities with the deans and directors of the appropriate school and programs. You will provide support to faculty, course directors and chairpersons of administrative departments with reference to grade submission, student record maintenance, and catalog updates. You will provide guidance concerning policy and procedures to departmental course directors, chairpersons, and faculty. You will serve as the primary liaison for professional testing agencies (American Association of Medical Colleges, United States Medical Licensing Examination, Graduate Record Examination, and various allied health boards). You will process enrollment certifications for all USUHS schools and routes all transcript requests through the appropriate approval process. You will provide training to staff, faculty, and administrators on recruitment, admissions, course registration, grade submission policies and procedures, and the usage of student and enrollment information systems. You will monitor the academic progress of all students in these programs and conduct academic audits for disciplinary and graduation activities.

Requirements

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing students progress and conduct academic audits for disciplinary and graduation activities and provide admissions data to develop reports for a higher education program or institution. For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating student registrations, admissions, and monitor student progress using automated systems for a higher education program or institution. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the GS-11 grade level:
  • Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
  • Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR
  • Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled; OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the GS-09 grade level:
  • Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
  • Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree; OR
  • Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled; OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
