About the Position: This position is a Military Technician position with the 88th Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 42, located in Fort Carson, Colorado. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Duties

Operate the full range of gasoline or diesel powered vehicles. Perform maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Develop performance standards and counsel employees on performance. Review in-progress and completed work for adequate quantity and quality. Instruct subordinates in new procedures and provide advice when problems arise. Identify employee training needs and initiate recommendations to provide necessary training. Plan weekly and monthly work schedules. Establish deadlines and prioritize workload.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • This position requires a Class A CDL.
  • This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.

Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.Ability To Lead or SuperviseAdministration and ManagementOperation of Motor VehiclesPlanning and EvaluatingTraining and Employee DevelopmentPhysical Effort: Frequently required to stand, stoop, bend and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Operate hand and foot controls when driving forklifts and motor vehicles. Required to lift and carry supplies, material and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed on concrete floors and in drafty areas, occasional working outdoors during inclement weather. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acid which may result in bruises, cuts, skin irritation and burns. Wearing of hearing and safety equipment required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.
