About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the NETCOM, 9th Army Signal Command, 516th Signal Brigade (AUG), S2 Security Division located at Fort Shafter, HI.

Duties

Responsible for the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of 516th TSB and command security programs. Serves as a source of authoritative information and assistance to the Commander and all levels of management, advising on security matters and appropriate protective measures. Develops policy and procedures for the conduct of investigations related to security violations and monitors the progress of such investigation in order to make recommendations on final disposition. Administers the commands personnel security program. Requests investigations/ clearance/special access authorizations. Reviews contract documentation to assure security requirements are considered during procurement planning. Establishes and manages the command security education program a SAEDA and Security Awareness briefings. Administers the Information Security (INFOSEC) Program, and establishes policies, procedures, and requirements to protect classified and controlled unclassified information (CUI).

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Designated Mission Essential Position: Required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
