Job opening: HVAC MECHANIC

Salary: $33 - 39 per hour

You will serve as a HVAC MECHANIC in the MAINTENANCE BUSINESS LINE of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will install and repair Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC.) and refrigeration systems in accordance with as-built drawings and manufacture design specifications. You will repair and overhaul plant components by disassembly, inspection, and replace defective parts. You will troubleshoot, perform diagnostic tests on equipment, isolate problems, and determine corrective action. You will modify and/or fabricate parts as required. You will install, overhaul, perform maintenance modifications of servicing commercial, industrial, research, engineer, and test equipment. You will use a variety of specialized equipment.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Fork Lift, High Lift (JLG), and/or Construction equipment license.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain additional licensing or certifications as required to complete work.
  • This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
  • You will be required to obtain a CPR certification within 6 months of start date.
  • You may be required to obtain a respirator certification.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION.
