This position is located in Pacific Northwest Region, R6. This position is located on a Forest Service unit. The incumbent is responsible for performing, providing and/or advising on a variety of administrative management services regarding a specialized area or program the unit/staff supports.
Duties
The incumbent is responsible for performing, providing and/or advising on a variety of administrative management services regarding a specialized area or program the unit/staff supports.
Provides advice and guidance on specialized area or program specifications to managers, staff, and line managers.
Ensures agency compliance with specialized area or program laws, rules, and regulations.
Incumbent prepares and answers correspondence relevant to the specialized area or program. Independently prepares responses to inquiries on routine matters.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-07: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: making recommendations for procedural changes to established procedures used in clerical or administrative work processes, such as correspondence control methods, or office workflow improvements; and/or planning and coordinating a variety of office support services; and/or assisting in researching or analyzing well-established or procedural program issues by gathering background information, reviewing program records and data, and/or preparing standard reports.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Education
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience.
