You will serve as a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATOR LEADER in the Regional Fuel Department of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will plan, distribute, coordinate, and monitor work assignments of others. You will check work while in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor' s instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met. You will control operation of an entire multi-fuel storage and distribution system connected by a network of internal pipelines. You will independently initiate, control and terminate fuel transfers throughout the tank farm system. You will direct the loading and unloading of fuel aboard tankers, barges and the transfer of fuel from one tank to another within the tank storage areas.

Requirements

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

I have experience performing all of the following duties: Plan, distribute, coordinate, and monitor work assignments of others; evaluates work performance and provides feedback to others on their performances; In addition, I initiate, control and terminate fuel transfers throughout the tank farm system; operate equipment or direct others to clear pipelines and open or close valves in the proper sequence to provide an open pipeline from assigned tank to pier to accomplish loading or off-loading of ships and barges; record valve and pump status on electronic central control board; direct the loading and unloading of fuel aboard tankers, barges and the transfer of fuel from one tank to another within the tank storage areas; calculates rate of fuel flow and regulates tank feed control valves to obtain and maintain adequate pump suction and proper tank levels; conduct inventory of petroleum products by gauging, taking temperature and water cuts of tanks and computing readings to net quantities utilizing conversion tables; and take samples of all petroleum products in storage tanks for analysis.
