About the Position: Senior physicist and Team Leader, Photonics Team, in the area of Metrology and Calibration at the highest level of accuracy within the U.S. Army Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)Activity (USATA).

Duties

Exercise technical direction over contractors and other government agencies performing development and engineering work related to areas of responsibility. Study research reports from the NIST, technical societies, and other private and government calibration laboratories relative to the field of metrology and calibration. Serve as a spokesman for U.S. Army Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment Support Group (USATSG) to higher authority on assigned measurement problems and technology.

  • Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires occasional temporary travel.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce (AWF) position. Must meet position requirements for Foundational Certification in ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT within 3 years of entrance on duty.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: LeadershipPhysicsTechnical Competence In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the Specialized experience which includes work that involves regulation or policy making, directing, implementing, advising, and nuclear or radiological materials. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
