The Physiologist with the VA Boston Healthcare System - Office of Research and Development performs research studies of cardiovascular disease and physical function in individuals as part of Veterans and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Wellness programs. The incumbent is responsible for the assessment, development, and implementation of exercise treatment plans in an inpatient, outpatient site-based, and home-based cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and wellness programs.

This is a bargaining unit position.
Area of Consideration: CTAP, *ICTAP and RPL eligible only.
*Preference eligible veterans displaced from Positions Restricted to Veterans due to outsourcing may be eligible for ICTAP as outlined in Title 5 CFR, Part 330, Subpart D.
This is a 1 year + 1 Day Term appointment that not to exceed 4 years. Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration of more than 1 year, but not more than 4 years, and are subject to a 1 year trial period. Should the need warrant, term appointments may be extended without further competition up to a maximum of the 4 year limitation. The appointment to a term position does not confer eligibility for promotion, reassignment, or transfer to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/28/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your Minimum Qualification Requirements - Specialized Experience, Education, or Equivalent Combination of Each as outlined below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-9) is defined as implementing clinical research duties concerning the performance of physiological studies; performing exercise physiology exams; collecting, analyzing and interpreting data results from physiological studies; delivering presentations based on physiological study data results;
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
Combination: Equivalent combinations of education and specialized experience as outlined above.
