The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Director of the Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) which provides a wide range of work/life services to units and their leadership on individual, family and community issues.

Duties

Plans, develops, directs, supervises, and advises on A&FRC programs and services Supervises the staff of the A&FRC Manages A&FRC budget and financial requirements as well as A&FRC contracts Oversees the development, evaluation, coordination, and integration of A&FRC services and activities across functional areas and among installation and community agencies

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, 0101 Series. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-II, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include 1) Providing knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields as well as of community services, locations, and availability to serviced populations. 2) Applying knowledge of financial, budget, and resource management practices and principles as well as standard contracting policies, practices, and procedures to manage Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) resources and financial requirements and oversee A&FRC contracts. 3) Using knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4) Delivering knowledge of a full range of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures including methods used to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement. 5) Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interacting with leadership, individuals/families, service agencies' representatives, and staff. 6) Communicating effectively, orally and in writing. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields as well as of community services, locations, and availability to serviced populations. Knowledge of financial, budget, and resource management practices and principles as well as standard contracting policies, practices, and procedures to manage A&FRC resources and financial requirements and oversee A&FRC contracts. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interacting with leadership, individuals/families, service agencies' representatives, and staff. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
