You will serve as a Materials Handler Leader at NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.
Duties
You will train new employees or contracted assistance demonstrating proper work methods and obtaining necessary materials and tools.
You will lead a team of Material Handler employees and assure that employees receive work assignments.
You will analyze and validate all receipt documents before processing.
You will organize and arrange stock in the storage area.
You will receive, unload and process incoming shipments.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Example of the Screen-out Element: I have the ability to perform the full range of Materials Handler tasks on my own initiative to include reviewing, issuing, handling, segregating, storing, distributing and documenting in accordance with prescribed regulations; lead a team of Material Handler employees and assign work and set pace for work performance; train employees on work procedures and methods; Assure safety, security, supply and good housekeeping guidelines are being practiced; assemble items for shipment and issue; determine which docking area is most convenient for off-loading; ensure the shipment is unloaded in proper sequence; track the movement and of material with automated systems/equipment; select specifics storage locations and organize and arrange stock in the storage areas; operate trucks /forklifts to transport, load and unload material.
