Duties
The Division of Analytics and Surveillance (DAS) in the FERC Office of Enforcement (OE) is seeking a motivated and skilled data engineer/data scientist to fill a role in our Data and Technology Branch. Leverage your skills in SQL, Python, R, and other programming languages to help your team build a data warehouse that drives DAS' wholesale electricity and natural gas surveillance dashboards and analyses, as well as Commission-wide policy decisions.

- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- A background investigation is required.
- This is a bargaining unit position.

In addition to the education required for this position, you must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level or additional education. Specialized experience is defined as: Specialized experience is defined as either (a) experience developing a data warehouse using Python or SQL, or (b) experience developing Python or SQL processes using cloud-based platforms.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
