About the Position: Serves as Training Instructor within Education & Training (E&T) of an assigned Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). Incumbent plans, develops and coordinates facets of E&T's delegated program requirements.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD.
Duties
Develops local policy, instruction and procedures governing the overall management of Education and Training programs.
Provides high quality instruction in formal and informal settings, ensuring personnel can perform in technical and tactical environments; provides impetus for sustainment training to maintain readiness.
Reviews and evaluates training materials, training media, methods, and tests.
Serves as a mentor and coach to novice instructors.
Creates, selects, requisitions, and organizes training aids.
Establishes and monitors performance standards; counsels as required; evaluates and performs appropriate performance-based action.
Develops quality improvement plans for training, revising as necessary.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Pre-employment physical is required. Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
- Moderate physical exertion may be required.
- Incumbent may be required to travel on occasion by commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY
- Possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification. BLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor certifications are preferred.
- Possess and maintain current registration with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians at the EMT- Basic level. Must have held certification for at least 3 years. EMT-Instructor status is preferred.
- All licensure/certification fees, as well as completion of mandatory Continuing Education Units (CEUS) required for re-licensure/recertification are the responsibility of the incumbent.
- Possess working knowledge of computer applications/software to include Microsoft Office programs, MS Outlook (e-mail), and internet familiarity is required, as well as the ability to input, extract, and format data from established databases.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes assisting with in-service, training and education programs related to personnel readiness and medical fields, preparing course evaluation data for analysis and reporting, scheduling classes, and coordinating with adjunct instructors to accomplish training objectives, instructing basic education programs, maintaining course records and issuing completion certificates for continuing education hours to course participants.

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as program coordinator or nursing.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
