About the Position: This position is with Real Estate Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles Division. The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Real Estate Branch Chief to perform a variety of specialized clerical and procedural tasks related to processing, drafting, typing and examining various instruments used in the acquisition and disposal of real property.
Duties
Works under specific general supervision of Chief, Military Section, receiving instructions as to work assignments.
Completed work is reviewed for adequacy, accuracy and compliance with policy, procedures and regulations.
The supervisor or higher grade employee is consulted on controversial, unusual, or complex issues.
Performs assignments in accordance with standard operating procedures and accepted agency practices.
Employee is responsible for the timeliness and technical accuracy of assignments.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year at the GS-04 equivalent providing administrative support for real estate operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year at the GS-05 equivalent: providing technical and customer service support for real estate operations; using automated systems such as Microsoft Office to create documents; managing customer databases; and supporting real estate acquisitions transactions (such as by performing searches with title companies). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business, Real Estate, Project Management.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute.
