Duties
Operates special purpose transporter vehicles to pick up and/or deliver local purchase and routine items from central receiving, local customer turn-ins, various material and supplies throughout the installation.
Receives priority requests, bin notices, etc., selects material from locations and verifies material by matching stock number, condition code, quantity, unit of issue with source document.
Operator also controls transporter stations which have electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic controls.
Operates trucks, pickups and other vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,000 pounds both on and off the installations, over public roads in all types of traffic and in congested industrial areas.
Delivers materials for shipping by commercial air to local airports.
Operates electric, gasoline or diesel-powered forklift trucks which are capable of lifting loads weighing 10,000 pounds or more, higher than 168 inches.

Qualifications
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition. The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is:
Ability to do the work of a Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision: I independently perform the more complex duties, such as operate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 36,000 pounds which are equipped with air brakes to pick up and/or deliver local purchases within the installation and over public highways.
