This position is located in the Web, Marketing, and Communications Division (WMC), Office of Patent Information Resources (OPIR), Office of Information Technology for Patents (OITP), Office of the Commissioner for Patents, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Web, Marketing, and Communications Division (WMC) provides marketing and outreach services to facilitate greater understanding and knowledge of policy development and implementation of the various programs and applications.
Duties
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For the GS-12:
For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-11 or equivalent.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
1. Experience assisting in researching communication materials, web content, news releases that involve writing and/or editing using plain language that explains policy programs and/or processes for an organization.
2. Experience assisting with online/web standards, processes and/or policies governing the usage of digital tools for an organization.
3. Experience working with various web platforms to foster communication with employees, the public and stakeholders.
4. Experience assisting in planning website content and/or producing and editing content for private or public websites that includes content production schedules and/or content management.
For the GS-13:
For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-12 or equivalent.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
1.Experience developing communication materials, web content, news releases that involve writing and/or editing using plain language that explains policies and/or processes for an organization.
2. Experience developing and implementing online/web standards, processes and/or policies governing the usage of digital tools for an organization.
3.Experience utilizing various web platforms to foster communication with employees, the public and stakeholders.
4.Experience developing, planning and implementing website content and/or producing and editing content for private or public websites that includes content production schedules and/or content management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education may not be substituted at the GS-12 and GS-13 grade levels.
