The Johnson Space Center Engineering Directorate is seeking a Business Intelligence and Operations Manager with experience in business intelligence, business processes, data analysis, and government budgeting. The role involves managing projects, analyzing data to improve efficiency, and implementing a Business Intelligence (BI) system. You will also be responsible for defining how data is collected, stored, and used within the Directorate.

Duties

Serve as a Directorate Project Manager focusing on Engineering Directorate Business processes and tools and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency. Delegate tasks, ensuring deadlines are met, and fostering collaboration. Understand budgetary and workforce marks, analyze trends, propose adjustments, and proactively provide recommendations to management to establish best practices for consistency on financial and workforce topics. Lead the Business Intelligence (BI) implementation plan, including develop databases, data models, relationships, signature cycles, and dashboards. Identify optimal software platform(s) to use for business operations, processes, and workflows. Define data strategy and governance, which involves defining how the Directorate will collect, store, manage, and utilize data. Ensure data quality, establishes data security protocols, and creates a roadmap for future data needs. Coordinate across the directorate to identify requirements and facilitate control board changes. Empower the organization to understand/utilize data effectively through training sessions, creating dashboards, and fostering a data-driven culture. Identify trends and variances, create reports, and translate complex data into actionable insights. Present and provide recommendations clearly, using oral, written, and data visualizations to engage stakeholders. Apply knowledge of the government fiscal year financial cycle and awareness of key decision points contributing to current and out-year budgets and workforce phasing plans. Serve as a backup to the Business Strategy and Assessments Lead. Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Participating in or overseeing complex initiatives from conception to completion; Leveraging expertise in data science, business intelligence, or data analytics to extract valuable insights from a data ecosystem and translate them into actionable strategies; Participating in or overseeing the budget process, cost tracking, variances generation, cost controls implementation, or overseeing government space contractors.
