Duties

As the Lead Supply Technician, you will: Lead three or more GS-2005 employees to ensure supplies and materials are distributed to all areas serviced Distribute and balance workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specification and assures timely accomplishment of assigned work Monitor status and progress of work, makes day-to-day adjustments according to established priorities Estimate and report on expected time of completion of work Instruct Team in specific tasks and job techniques through written instructions, reference materials and supplies Provide on-the-job training to new employees Monitor working conditions Resolve simple, informal complaints of employees and refers others to supervisor Approve leave for a few hours or for emergencies and adjusts schedule to ensure coverage Provide performance input to supervisor concerning promotions, reassignments, recognition and personnel needs Maintain stock at primary and secondary inventory locations Monitor expiration dates, rotate stock to limit dates and remove items from use as required Ensure critical supplies are appropriately monitored and controlled, resolve deviations when possible, and escalate significant deviations Perform daily inventory of primary and secondary inventory points Unpack/uncrate supplies from shipping cartons; properly store supplies and material Distribute items according to established or ad hoc requirements Deliver supplies in a timely and accurate manner Complete specialty cart preparation and stock Clean assigned secondary areas Support wall-to-wall inventories May assist other functional areas to perform other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4pm * Possible Saturday Rotation Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/01/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: 1) Distribute supplies and materials, including sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets and equipment, to all areas of the facility; 2) Scan, bar-code, receive, store and distribute supplies and materials; 3) Assist in training new employees; 4) Answer questions on procedures, policies, etc.; 5) Maintain stock by pulling stock, replenishing stock, and maintaining records on stock levels; 6) Monitor expiration dates and rotates stock; 7) Clean assigned areas in accordance with aseptic principles; and 8) Receive supplies and material into the facility. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)LeadershipReasoningTechnical CompetenceTechnology Application Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work requires standing and walking during the entire workday, and frequent reaching, bending and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds). Work requires pushing loaded carts of medical supplies (weighing in excess of 100+ pounds). With proper assistance, moves heavier items weighing over 40 pounds.
