This vacancy is for a Data Dissemination Specialist position in the Customer Liaison and Marketing Services Office located at the U.S. Census Bureau in multiple locations.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Data Dissemination Specialist, 0301-9/11/12, FPL GS-12 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Duties
Develops and presents workshops, conducts webinars, seminars, works at exhibit booths, etc. to support the dissemination of data to diverse populations.
Initiates and maintains relationships with state, local, and/or tribal governments' high-ranking officials; community-based organizations leaders; local business leaders; and media outlets such as television, radio, newspapers, and journals.
Conducts program planning, coordination, and implementation of data dissemination activities within the assigned area.
Updates a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to enter all activities carried out in the course of a week.

Applicants selected for this position will be mobile workers. Your home will be your Duty Station; you will be required to travel throughout your local area on a routine basis.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-9, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Assisting higher-grade staff with developing workshops, webinars, seminars, and/or trainings to a variety of audiences. Using technology (including social media) to deliver data to the public; Collaborating with volunteers; state, local, and/or tribal governments; community-based organizations; local business leaders; and media outlets to support the organization's mission; Documenting and updating public databases to ensure information is up to date and accurate.
OR
Education: 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Combination of education and experience.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Assisting with developing and presenting workshops, webinars, seminars, and/or trainings to a variety of audiences; Using technology (including social media) to deliver data to the public; Collaborating with volunteers; state, local, and/or tribal governments; community-based organizations; local business leaders; and media outlets to support the organization's mission; Conducting research and analyzing the demographics of an area; Documenting and updating public databases to ensure information is up to date and accurate.
Education: 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

Combination of education and experience.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Developing and presenting workshops, webinars, seminars, and/or trainings to a variety of audiences; Using technology (including social media) to deliver data to the public; Preparing written or oral reports to advise senior management; Collaborating with volunteers; state, local, and/or tribal governments; community-based organizations; local business leaders; and media outlets to support the organization's mission; Conducting research and analyzing the demographics of an area to develop regional communication plans and data dissemination activities; Documenting and updating public databases to ensure information is up to date and accurate.
Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
