THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 STUDENT INTERN EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a FAMILY PROGRAM SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5301000 and is part of the CO Family Programs Office, National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a team member and advisor on Family Program issues, assist in the development, planning, implementing, and administering the Family Program concerning family and quality of life issues.

Duties

Serves as an advisor on quality of life and Family Program matters for National Guard and reserve members with the goal of maximizing retention and readiness. Assists in planning, maintaining, and updating an ongoing system of information and referral for use by the military community. Receives and maintains volunteer hours contributed; supports Family Readiness Groups; designs and conducts training programs for volunteers; and designs and conducts volunteer recognition activities. Serves as representative at conferences and meetings on quality of life and Family Program matters. Plans and coordinates mobilization processes for pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment issues. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • The incumbent of this position must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
  • Must meet Recent Grad requirements by closing date.
  • Recent Graduates will be required to sign a Pathways Recent Graduate Participant Agreement.
  • Submit all required documentation.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
  • The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle and if so, an appropriate valid driver’s license is required

Qualifications

1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet the specialized experience listed below. 3. In addition to describing duties performed, applicants must provide the exact dates of each period of employment (from MM//YY to MM/YY) and the number of hours worked per week if part time. Must have at least 24 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience in any position that required compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. 2. Experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. 3. Experience developing administrative procedures. 4. Experience in administrative procedures and practices of management.

RECENT GRADUATE PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY:
*Applicants must have obtained a qualifying associates, bachelors, master's, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years unless military service interfered with a veterans eligibility to apply during that two year time frame. Veterans meeting the above exclusion may apply within 2 years of discharge or 6 years from the date of receipt of the degree whichever comes first.
