As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Bank Information Technology (BIT), you will lead and assist in the supervision of BIT activities in banks and Technology Service Providers (TSPs), and carry out national and bank supervision objectives.
Positions report to the Risk, Resource, and Examiner Development Office (RRED)
Duties
As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Bank Information Technology), you will:
Plan, coordinate, and monitor BIT supervisory activities, including assessing risk, developing supervisory strategies, determining scope of supervisory activities, managing teams of assisting personnel, preparing reports of activities and developing responses to address risks.
Serve as lead examiner or assist in BIT exams at the most complex servicers and Multi-Regional Data Processing Servicer (MDPS) companies; Shared Application Software Reviews; and midsize banks involving complex issues requiring extensive investigation and application of highly technical analysis and judgement. Serve as technical expert/advisor to OCC management and field examiners.
Evaluate the effectiveness of BIT functions, identify BIT risks and trends, and recommend changes in examination policy/procedures.
Direct, review, and evaluate the work of assigned personnel, including preparation of assignment evaluations.
Conduct or participate in discussions with senior bank management on findings and recommendations. Prepare communications with Boards of Directors and senior bank management in order to foster positive change within the institution.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level or GS-13 grade level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Leading exams or audits of bank information technology (BIT) control functions, such as information security, business continuity, project management or systems development.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
