This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Perform installation, overhaul, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment of limited complexity.
Duties
Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, and repair electronic equipment of limited complexity, i.e., audio or radio frequency amplifiers, power supplies, oscillators, etc.
Use prescribed procedures and precise instructions and specifications, disassemblies, repairs, replaces and tests parts and subassemblies
Locate defective parts on printed circuit boards with programmed automatic test equipment.
Receive defective circuit cards and chassis, checks out, located and repairs malfunctions.
Construct individual chassis and components based on detailed assembly instructions checks circuit continuity, resistance and impedance, etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to random drug testing IAW Drug-Free Federal Workplace requirements set forth in DODI 1010.09.
- Pre-employment physical is required.
- A valid state driver's license is required.
- Employee may be required to use safety equipment such as: safety shoes, gloves, aprons, safety glasses, goggles, hearing protectors, or any other safety equipment that will preclude personal injury.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronics Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. Repairing printed circuit boards; soldering; and testing and checking out electrical equipment of limited complexity. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Light to moderate physical effort is required. Employee frequently lifts and carries up to 40 pounds. May occasionally lift heavier items with assistance. Work requires sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, and working in cramped or awkward positions. Occasionally, work in high places may be required. Must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors.
Working Conditions: Work is usually performed inside in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. Subject to injuries such as electric shock, cuts, bruises, or burns. Work may be performed on aircraft, ships, high places or outside in inclement weather.
