Duties
You will support all of the systems within the Sea Range Systems Division as a Computer Scientist.
You will operate within a team of engineers, technicians, scientists, and IT professionals to accomplish projects and support ongoing operations.
You will assist in the project management, design, procurement, integration, and maintenance of new and existing IT systems.
You will perform system administrative tasking in a dynamic environment of legacy and modern technology including embedded software, VMware suite, and in-house software platforms.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-02 pay band or GS-5/9 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with the design and development of Software products; 2) Utilizing embedded software, Windows-based systems, and/or VMware suite within a given project; and 3) Assisting in managing software updates, patching, scanning, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Education
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
ALL applicants must meet the basic education requirements in order to qualify for this position: Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Evaluation of Education: Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
The following education may be substituted for specialized experience: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree
