Duties

This position allows you to use your knowledge and experience to plan and carry out a variety of mission support, workforce management, administrative research and program planning related to the missions and functions of U.S. Border Patrol. This position starts at a salary of $90,811.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $118,050.00 (GS-12, Step 10). GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. As a Mission Support Specialist (Workforce Management), you will perform significant review and analysis of budget, management, training, logistics, procurement, and numerous other areas of mission support resources. Typical work assignments will include: Providing advice involving workforce issues to senior leaders, supervisors, and non-supervisory staff while developing and coordinating hiring plans with input from program officials. Assisting leadership in the development and implementation of policies related to sector workforce and position management, procedures, and other matters affecting administrative programs with senior leadership's approval. Developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for program implementation, and developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of current and proposed processes. Developing, presenting, monitoring, advising, and reporting on workforce management, staffing and placement, strategic planning, and performance planning operations.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Developing and delivering briefings, project papers, status and staff reports, and correspondence to managers; Serving as a liaison with Labor and Employee Relations (LER), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEO), and the Office of Chief Counsel (OCC) for cases that have workforce implications; Generating reports to track spending, identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies, and forecasting expenditures based on trends and operational needs; Scheduling of travel and training as well as organizing logistical elements of work; Participating in studies and making recommendations related to workforce management activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 06/26/2024.
