About the Position: This position is with: US ARMY IMCOM JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD DIRECTORATE OF PUBLIC WORKS ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION COMPLIANCE JBLM, WA

Duties

Manage the Environmental Inspection and Training Program in accordance with the Federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Toxic Substances and Control Act, and state laws. Manages the Environmental Inspection, Education and Spill Response Program to ensure that the installation is fully compliant with all spill response regulations and reporting. Ensure operations of the team members by tracking assessments and personnel data, report preparation, training creation and implementation, as well as providing assistance to individual program managers for suggested process improvement. Serve as the Directorate of Public Works Environmental Inspection and Training Team Leader and creates Environmental Management Systems objectives for Environmental Inspections and Trainings.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement: A. Have a degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. Or B. Have a combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Specialized Experience: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes the following. Research multiple subjects to provide information for Environmental programs such as project planning, management and budgeting to maintain compliance with a wide variety of environmental laws and regulations. Perform Environmental Inspections to assess if there has been a spill that needs clean up and inform management if the spill meets that requirement. Present training on Environmental subjects to ensure others know the programs requirements and what their role is within the program is. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
