You will serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist at MARCORSYSCOM, serving as first level supervisor for a team of approximately 5 to 10 contract specialists and contracting officers, and supporting a Program or Product Manager for the acquisition of ground weapon or information technology systems.

Duties
You will serve as a recognized authority/advisor and/or senior manager to the Commander/Executive Director/Director/Program Manager.
You will be an authority when making contractual decisions and procurement policies/procedures and recommendations.
You will analyze, evaluate, and review proposed and on-going procurement and cost and pricing data for highly complex multi-year acquisition of major systems.
You will serve on a variety of high level boards and committees including representation and/or liaison with Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Navy (DON), and Marine Corps (MC).
You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust priorities, evaluate work performance of subordinates, give advice or instruct employees, and identify developmental and training needs.
Requirements

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Contracting, Professional acquisition certification within 36 months in accordance with DoD instruction 5000.66.
- You must be able to hold and maintain an unlimited contracting officer's warrant in accordance with FAR subpart 1.6.
- You must complete Form DD2888, Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, directing, coordinating, contractual and procurement actions for sophisticated and technologically advanced systems; and performing managerial duties (e.g. assigning work, developing and evaluating performance, providing technical and administrative guidance, taking disciplinary actions, etc.).

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
OR
A current career or career-conditional employee of the Department of Defense who occupied an 1102 or contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000.
OR
A current active duty military member of the armed forces (other than Coast Guard) who occupied a contracting position or similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 on or before September 30, 2000.
