This National Guard position is for a HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0641000 and is part of the FL AASF 1, National Guard.

Duties

As a HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, GS-2181-13, you will plan, develop and implement training lesson plans based on the requirements and guidance contained in the Aircrew Training Manual and USAAVNC POIs and lesson plans. Develop training texts and evaluation material to include material covering new equipment or procedures. Evaluate overall training completed to identify significant trends or weaknesses in the program. Revise and amend material or training methods accordingly. Evaluate individual training needs and tailor programs accordingly. Maintain and update individual training records. Recommend elimination or retention of aviators in the program. Perform a variety of administrative tasks concerning pilot training and evaluation.

Requirements

  • National Guard Membership is required.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION : This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADES: Warrant Officer; WO1 thru CW4. NOTE #1: Applicants MUST be Instructor Pilot qualified by closing date and must submit a DA Form 759E. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13 Must have at least 2-years of specialized experience in civilian aviation or military service aviation programs; with at least two years specialized competencies in operating the CH47, HH 60 and UH 72 rotary wing military aircraft, as well as mission planning, and mission preparation; experience in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information; experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings; experience in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments; experience in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operations or surveillance and reconnaissance.
