This vacancy is for a Utility Systems Repairer Operator in the Office of Facilities and Environmental Quality, Office of Facilities and Environmental Quality (OFEQ) within the Department of Commerce.
Duties
As a Utility Systems Repairer Operator, you will perform the following duties:
Perform the installation, testing, adjustment, repair, and operation of steam and condensate systems, water supply lines, sewage distribution, and drainage systems.
Install, modify, and repair shafts, bearings, and mechanical seals for condensate, water, and sewage distribution systems.
Operate various features of computerized facility management preventive maintenance systems, including self-dispatching, general work orders, completing/closing work orders, and preparing reports.
Resolve working problems and take action to overcome bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages, or other causes of delay and inefficiency.
Determine materials, tools, equipment, and procedures, lay out work, set up equipment to complete assignments efficiently with minimal supervision, and observe all on-the-job safety measures.
Diagnose malfunctions by isolating problems, checking through the system, and making appropriate repairs or modifications.
Install and operate relief valves, check valves, pressure regulators, expansion joints, and other pressure supporting and controlling devices to control pressure, flow, and circulation.

Qualifications
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C and evaluated under OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.

Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume.
