Duties

Considered a functional/technical expert by others in the organization; is regularly sought out by others for advice and assistance. Develops, integrates, and implements solutions to diverse, highly complex problems across multiple areas and disciplines. Reviews and approves, or is a major contributor to/ lead author of, management reports or contractual documents for external distribution. Establishes customer alliances, anticipates and fulfills customer needs, and translates customer needs to programs/projects. Effectively accomplishes multiple projects’/programs’ goals within established guidelines.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Criminal Investigator, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Medical Requirements The duties of positions in this series require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Sufficiently good vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required to perform the duties satisfactorily. Near vision, corrective lenses permitted, must be sufficient to read printed material the size of typewritten characters. Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 35 decibels at 1000, 2000, and 3000 Hz levels. Since the duties of these positions are exacting and responsible, and involve activities under trying conditions, applicants must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition that would cause the applicant to be a hazard to himself/herself, or others is disqualifying. AND B. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in, or related to, this position. To qualify for the NH-03 level, specialized experience must be at the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: The incumbent independently plans, organizes, conducts, and manages complex criminal investigations involving persons and property under the charge of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) pursuant to Federal Statutes and applicable DoD and DCMA Directives.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
