The position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), VA Medical Center (VAMC), Fiscal Service in Durham, North Carolina. As the medical center's financial expert, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for establishing and maintaining an integrated system of financial staff services which contribute to effective management control over facility operations.

Duties

Duties to include but not limited to the following: Establishing and maintaining an integrated system f financial staff services contributing to effective management control over and evaluation of station operation. Recommends policy changes to both VISN and VA Central Office to effect improvements in standardized systems. Maintain an internal Financial Quality Assurance Management (FQAM) review program ensuring that financial policies and procedures of the station are being followed and are effective. Responsible for accounting, payroll, voucher audit, agent cashier, travel, patient funds and general post funds functions. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 0730-1600 Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/27/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
