Duties
You will serve as Air Traffic Control (ATC) Electronic Technician (ET) for ATC systems equipment in support of military and civilian aviation operations.
You will specialize in maintenance and operation of ATC Radio Frequency (RF) electronics systems.
You will review and report equipment malfunctions and any work related problems to Supervisory Electronics Technician.
You will advise on status of air traffic control equipment to senior ATC Facilities Watch Officer (FWO) controllers.
You will serve as Electronics Technician specializing in maintenance and operation of complex ATC IT Date Networking systems.
You will determine methods and techniques required to accomplish tasks and solve complex ATC RF and IT systems failures or problems.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You must possess Air Traffic Control (ATC) maintenance certification.
- You must have good color vision.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain CPR certification, recertification is required every two years. New employees will have six months from initial start date to obtain CPR certification.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating, designing, and performing inspections on Air Traffic Control (ATC) Radio Frequency (RF), Navigation Aids, and ATC Data Networking System equipment, proposing procedural instructions, and repairing, maintaining, overhauling, and calibrating associated electronic systems or equipment.
