Duties
As a Records and Information Management Specialist you will:
Provide leadership and coordination to records management professionals throughout CDC responsible for the implementation of the CDC Records Management (RM) Program
Administer the CDC RM Program to align with the agency's business and mission needs and provide advice and guidance to records liaisons and records custodians in records and information management lifecycle requirements
Manage CDC's implementation of policy and guidance for record-keeping in accordance with Department/ Agency strategic plan; Congressional mandates for all electronic and non-electronic records; National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) regulations, standards and guidance; and appropriate national and international professional records/information management standards
Coordinate the proper disposition of records consistent with Government-wide policies and procedures
Modernize records management functions by participating in the transition of agency's paper records to electronic records

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing guidance on records administration to ensure compliance with policies and procedures (e.g., control schedules, plans, dispositions); investigating compliance with records management regulations and policy; and utilizing electronic records management systems (e.g., applying metadata to data sets).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
