The incumbents will be responsible for supporting disaster financial management and all associated components aligned within the division including overseeing the quarterly progress reporting, spend plan processes, financial compliance, and Operations Support Specialist/Task Force Leader program functions in the Disaster Grants Financial Management and Compliance Unit.

To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position at the IC-07 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-05 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with organizational stakeholders as it relates to emergency disaster programs; Applying fact-finding techniques to research and validate data; and Assisting with writing analytical reports or summaries. OR 1 full year of graduate level education; OR Superior academic achievement OR Combination of education and experience. To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position at the IC-09 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-07 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the management of disaster assistance operations or programs; Providing assistance on process improvements practices; and Collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D. OR Combination of education and experience. To qualify for this position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Communicating programs, policies, and procedures to a variety of stakeholders; Facilitating the delivery of disaster assistance programs; and Preparing and presenting oral and written presentations to stakeholders.
