You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN in the AVIATION SUPPORT DEPARTMENT, FINANCIAL BRANCH of FLTREADCEN WEST DET.

Duties

You will arrange and prepare travel orders for command personnel, including preparing orders, making lodging and transportation arrangements for foreign and domestic travel. You will track funding to ensure all payments are posted accurately and in line with estimated costs. You will prepare, examine, compute, process and maintain vouchers and related accounting data. You will assist the Financial Analyst in coordination and development of the command operating budget. You will review purchase requests for accuracy, assure requests are allowable within the scope of the command requesting the item(s). You will serve as the SLDCADA Administrator, duties to include training the command personnel that certify timecards, training personnel in inputting their hours of work as well as how to request each category of leave requests. You will perform technician wok in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers compiling, consolidating, and checking and arranging funding data. You will prepare and analyze reports to verify costs expenditures and determine shortfalls in operating budgets.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to lift/carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying accounting methods and techniques to identify and resolve discrepancies in support of budget administration.
