About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.
You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable.
This position is with 7th Signal Command, 21st Signal Brigade, 56th Signal Battalion, located at Florida City, Florida.
Duties
Provide secure and non-secure telephone and secure protected military satellite communications support.
Maintain key personnel database and call rosters.
Train and provides technical assistance on secure voice, protected MILSATCOM voice and data, and data communications to the combatant command's Joint Operations Center (JOC) personnel.
Performs the full variety of operations, maintenance, and repair of the FAB-T and associated electronic subsystems.
Provide system-level technical telecommunications support for local and remote DRSN systems.
Test and evaluate systems performance, serviceability, and maintenance techniques.
Interact with DISA and its representatives while testing integration of secure and non secure communications equipment between DRSN and new or future communications technologies.
Maintain command and control (C2) situational awareness within the command’s area of focus (AOF). Serves within the Combatant Commander's initial crisis response cell.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access for the duration of employment.
- Incumbent of this position must be willing and able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Incumbent of this position is subject to rotating shifts and/or irregular tour of duty to include weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by planning and implementing telecommunications installation procedures involving a variety of available communications equipment; training and providing technical assistance on secure voice, satellite, data communications, and system-level support for local and remote systems; and evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrate knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
