You will serve as a REGISTRATION PROGRAM OFFICER in the Office of the University Registrar, Office of the Director, University Academic Operations of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.

Duties

You will assist the University Registrar in managing, directing, and coordinating the daily operations and activities of the Registrar's Office in support of assigned USU Schools and Colleges. You will provide expert guidance, assistance, and advice to the University Registrar, Deans, Vice Presidents, and other top executives of the University and representatives of external agencies on Registrar's Office operational and program functions. You will represent and act for the University Registrar on all management, executive, and administrative matters in the absence of the University Registrar. You will initiate and ensure the proper maintenance of student records, registration records, and transcripts according to university policy which requires working in close concert with the University Registrar. You will plan, administer and evaluate registrar functions and services including operating policies, procedures, processes, and systems. You will develop, and recommend policy and system modifications in accordance with organizational requirements and objectives as well as external regulations. You will provide leadership to plan, organize, and manage all activities of the office related to student records and registration.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

In addition to the basic requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional enrollment officer managing the administration of student records, registration services, and admissions for official academic records and curriculum graduation requirements in a college environment. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.

or

Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.

A degree that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as business, educational services, higher education administration, school administration, or student affairs from an accredited university or institution. An advance degree is highly desirable.
