About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Duties

Analyze circuits from schematics, flow charts, source listing charts, optical and wiring diagrams Remove components, chassis and assemblies from test equipment. Perform checkout procedures after repairs have been made to ensure the test console and/or fixture is functioning properly.

I have the ability to perform common sampling inspections to ensure that surfaces meet the prescribed standards, specifications and other established criteria. I assure that items are properly cleaned and prepared for painting. Use thickness gage to determine if paint is within specified tolerances and conduct water break tests to assure cleanliness prior to paint and performs scribe/scratch tests to ensure proper adhesion. Incumbent is also exposed to vapor and paint fumes. Working Conditions: The work is performed inside or outside of buildings where dirt, spray, and fumes are present. May be required to wear protective equipment and clothing (e.g., rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, respirator, etc.) that are uncomfortable. Frequently exposed to cuts and bruises. There is a possibility of exposure to hazardous materials/waste.
