You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY NORFOLK NSY.

Duties

You will develop training for junior employees in fire protection or prevention to enhance performance in emergency support functions. You will assess a junior firefighter or employee work performance to determine if performance objectives are being met. You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees. You will develop a fire protection or fire prevention program for a fire department. You will manage the development and implementation of a risk management plan for a fire department. You will prepare inspection reports to document findings of fire safety deficiencies.

Qualifications

Current Permanent Employees of Org Code N30 within Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic (CNRMA) must meet specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; 2) Operating a variety of firefighter vehicles, apparatuses or equipment; 3) Initiating established medical protocols to perform basic life support and performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures; In addition, this position requires possession of the following certifications: 1) Firefighter I; 2) Firefighter II; 3) HazMat Awareness; 4) HazMat Operations; 5) HazMat Incident Commander; 6) Driver Operator Pumper; 7) Fire Officer I; 8) Fire Officer II; 9) Fire Inspector I; 10) Fire Instructor I; 11) NREMT; 12) CPR. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, NREMT, IFSAC or Proboard to meet the requirements.
