You will serve as a GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the STRATEGY & FUTURE REQUIREMENTS DEPARTMENT, BUSINESS DIRECTORATE of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will Receive, review, analyze, scope, and log all incoming FOIA/PA correspondence into FOIA logs. You will retrieve, review, and redact records requested under FOIA to ensure the release of appropriate and accurate information. You will develop local level guidance, procedures and processes ensuring command compliance with higher level policy. You will Read, interpret, and analyze the impact of new administrative programs and policy on current practices. You will conduct investigations and implement remedy if spillage occurs.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may be eligible for telework on a situational or regular and recurring basis to be determined by activity where the position is filled.
  • Procurement integrity certification may be required in accordance with Office of Federal Procurement Policy Act (41 USC 2102) as amended.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying highly detailed knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) (5 U.S.C. 552) and the Privacy Act (PA) (5 U.S.C. 552a) 2) analyzing records and making evaluations as to what records, portions of records, or information may be released or withheld from the public; 3) Analyzing and evaluating information; 4) Preparing and presenting findings, recommendations, and conclusions regarding FOIA/PA/RM PROGRAMS.; and 5) maintaining effective relationships with all levels of personnel both within and outside the command.
